Our Philosophy
Refereeing is a great opportunity to give back to the sport of
judo and help develop it at all levels. Quality referees allow judoka, with the
guidance of their instructors and coaches, to test and demonstrate their skills
against opponents on the judo mat, under a standard set of rules that are
applied consistently to all participants.
Objectives:
1. To provide opportunity to all participants
(players, coaches, parents, and officials) to fully understand the competition
rules that govern our sport so that each competitor may reach his or her maximum
achievement.
2. To develop a core group of certified officials who can help provide
consistent application of the rules at all tournaments.
3. To provide the structure and opportunity for all officials to continue
to grow and improve their capabilities.
