The 1998 Ohio Junior State Judo Championships were held on May 16th at the Burkhardt Recreation Center, Dayton Ohio.  Thanks go to all volunteers who helped with the event - setting up mats, table workers, referees, and others.   Seventy one competitors participated with the following results:

1998 Ohio Junior Olympics

    The 1998 Ohio J.O.'s were held in Akron, OH on March 7th.   Participants (110) travelled from all areas of the state to compete.   Excellent throwing technique was exhibited by several of the competitors and solid newaza brought victory to some.  The results are listed below.

    One half of the profits from this event will be split evenly between the top finisher in each division who has been a member of OSJI for the last 2 years and competes at the National Junior Olympics in Johnstown, PA this summer (June 26-28, 1998).   Those who have qualified according to OSJI records are indicated with an asteris (*) following their name in the results.

    Congratulations to all participants and thanks to the referees and other tournament officials who helped run this event.
